St Ives Public School Jazz Jam

The St Ives Public School Band Program comprises over 95 students across 4 bands – Concert Blue (for beginner students), Concert Gold (for students in their second year of playing their instrument), Symphonic Wind Ensemble (for third and fourth year students) and the Jazz Jam. Students come together for a weekly afternoon music school where they participate in sectional rehearsals, full band rehearsals and musicianship classes.

Jazz Jam is an extension band program for students who have been playing for a couple of years and has more of a jazz focus in the choice of music. They rehearse once a week and perform regularly at school and external events.

They will be performing some of their new pieces for the festival.

Sydney Youth Musical Theatre is now in its 39th year of staging productions in the Sydney region, and it remains the only exclusively youth musical society in Australia. Each year, we stage two productions: one in July for our 14-25 year-old members, and a November production for our 10-18 year-old members. At Wahroonga Food & Wine Festival there will be a short series of musical numbers performed by select members of the cast of the up and coming NSW Premiere of the musical ‘Tarzan’ performing at Hornsby RSL from 22nd to the 25th of November.
